It looks like Netflix will serve as the new battleground between the world’s biggest MOBAs. First, Netflix streamed Dota: Dragon Blood, the new animated series starring Valve’s biggest game. The servers for the Little Big Planet games have gone offline after a series of suspected DDOS attacks from one unhappy fan. First reported by Eurogamer, Sony’s external development support studio XDEV recently tweeted that the LBP servers have been temporarily taken offline, citing “technical issues” as the main cause. However, Eurogamer believes that it’s actually due to a DDOS campaign orchestrated by a single individual in retaliation to Sony’s recent treatment of the franchise....

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will not have to “wait very long” to see a Southeast Asian superhero arrive on Disney Plus. While speaking at a press conference to announce the launch of the streaming service in Singapore, Feige made it clear that Marvel aims to represent different cultures within its universe. Thanks to a response to a fan by Mass Effect Andromeda lead designer, Ian Frazier, BioWare plans to reveal more information about the multiplayer beta before the end of the month. The new year has already proven to be a busy one for BioWare as the company ramps up its marketing efforts for its next big title, Mass Effect Andromeda. Last week gave fans another look, albeit a quick one, of more single player combat on a new volcanic type of planet at the annual CES show in Las Vegas....

With the long, five year development period of Mass Effect: Andromeda now behind BioWare, the company has shifted gears and moved on to its mysterious new IP, codenamed Dylan. Unfortunately for fans, the wait is now much longer, as EA announced that the new IP has been delayed into fiscal year 2019, which begins on April 1, 2018 and ends March 30, 2019. Of course, the natural reaction to news of a delay is to wonder why, with some even speculating that perhaps the negative pre-release press for Mass Effect Andromeda gave EA cold feet....

While the first protagonist of the Metal Gear series was Solid Snake, no character had as big of an impact on the franchise as Big Boss. The legendary soldier killed the Boss, helped create The Patriots, and was the “father” of the Twin Snakes. All of these events played giant roles in Metal Gear’s overall narrative. However, the character’s popularity didn’t simply come from his importance. He was also a badass, as seen when he put down Volgin and the entire Cobra Unit during one of the best games in the series, Metal Gear Solid 3....

Not long after Metal Gear Survive was announced, series creator Hideo Kojima distanced himself from the project, stating that zombies didn’t fit his vision for the franchise. While Kojima may have had nothing to do with the its development, that hasn’t stopped him from being referenced in the game. Although Microsoft plans to phase out their points system by years end, one relic of the dated system will remain: the redeemable codes. Allowing gamers to pick up a single game or piece of DLC by purchasing them in retail stores redeemable codes have been a convenient way to circumvent the points system, but now they might seem unnecessary. There’s no comment from Microsoft regarding the redeemable codes, and why they would plan to keep them, but our guess is their ease of use should play a factor....

Fans of Minecraft know that MineCon is (now) an annual tradition which began last year, once demand to get a bunch of miners together grew large enough (does that sound bad? We said miners, not minors). Last year’s convention took place in Las Vegas - which E3 almost moved to - and that leaves pretty big shoes to fill in terms of finding the next location. Mojang stepped up to the plate in this regard, placing MineCon 2012 in Disneyland, Paris....

Within the next few months, Minecraft will be rolling out its 16th massive update since the game’s release back in 2011. The developers at the recently-rebranded Mojang Studios have been releasing developmental versions, or “snapshots,” of the game since the start of February, so players have been able to take a deep-dive into what the official release will look like. This version update is all about the revamped Nether dimension. While going to the Nether has always been exciting for players, it has not seen many turnovers since its debut back in the game’s alpha days....
