The fate of L.A. Comic Con, which had been scheduled for September 25 to 27, was up in the air as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Los Angeles has been hard hit by the outbreak with 178,642 confirmed cases and 4,426 deaths, yet local businesses have started developing plans to reopen safely. L.A. Comic Con, a three-day multi-genre convention in downtown Los Angeles held uninterruptedly since 2011, has recently announced plans to reschedule the event....

Ah, Love Actually. It’s the convoluted Christmas movie of choice for many of us year after year, and we love it despite its many flaws, which have only grown in number as we’ve become more aware of things like the Bechdel test, how unfunny fat jokes are and that not all relationships are between heterosexual white people. As romcoms go, Love Actually is certainly ambitious, telling nine different stories over the course of two hours, which makes it even more unbelievable that Richard Curtis originally wanted there to be a whopping fourteen storylines....

Magic: The Gathering is about to enter the MMORPG space thanks to a new, free-to-play game in development at Cryptic Studios. Publisher Perfect World Entertainment announced that the upcoming game, Magic: Legends, will receive an open beta for PC players in March. Inspired by the popular card game, Magic: Legends is a hack-and-slash online action-RPG that takes place in the world of Magic: The Gathering. You take on the role of a Planeswalker, a powerful spellcaster who can travel between worlds....

There are nearly two dozen scenarios in the immersive tabletop game Mansions Of Madness for players to overcome and solve. Some are very combat-oriented with lots of foes to face, others involve a lot of tactics and strategy, and others have a lot of brain-bending mysteries and puzzles to solve. While every player has different preferences and playstyles going into these games there are some scenarios that are generally considered really good and some that are bad by many in the fan base....

With end-of-year releases starting to heat up, gamers can soon expect a heap of new games to launch in the coming months, not to mention next-gen consoles. Among the new games launching soon is Marvel’s Avengers, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamic’s crack at a full-fledged superhero game. It seems that Marvel’s Avengers will have one big flaw for co-op play at launch, though. According to a recent blog post on Square Enix’s website, Marvel’s Avengers co-op won’t allow players to join missions in progress, so parties that want friends to join in mid-match will either need to exit to the menu screen, or wait for a mission to be completed before they can join in....

Tony Stark may be dead, but his corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t. Marvel Studios set out to prove that last week by announcing two new shows for Disney+ that further explore the Stark side of the MCU. Don Cheadle is slated to once again play James “Rhodey” Rhodes in Armor Wars, and Tony’s unofficial apprentice Riri Williams will make her live-action debut in Ironheart. Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, introduced both shows as part of the uncontrolled firehose of entertainment news that he unleashed during last week’s Walt Disney Company’s Investor Day....

Video game developer BioWare teases the reveal of tomorrow’s trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda that focuses on weapons and skills in the science fiction game. Now that there’s only a little more than a month to go before Mass Effect: Andromeda’s release date, fans ought to expect BioWare to begin ratcheting up the marketing and promotion for the forthcoming action-RPG even more so than before, as the company surely still has plenty of as-of-yet unrevealed details to share....

The Mass Effect series has over 30 different alien races with their own unique histories and advantages. Some alien races are romanceable, like Turians or Asari, and others are enemies, like the Reapers or Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Kett. There are also some aliens that don’t have prominent roles in the story but are fun to encounter nonetheless. The Bolus are one of these races that definitely help build the world of Mass Effect but don’t have as prominent a role in the games....

Minecraft players are about to have a lot more see when they explore caves. And by “about to,” we mean wait several months for the Caves & Cliffs update. The new update was detailed at today’s Minecraft Live presentation, and is slated for Summer 2021. It will introduce greater variety in the named biomes, new materials to find, and the greatest creature of all time: axolotls! In the livestream, it was noted that caves are being updated because it’s been requested for many years....

Since the modern horror classic was removed from the PlayStation Store back in 2015, modders from all around the world have been trying to resurrect Hideo Kojima’s PT through several different platforms. The game has returned through Half-Life Alyx mods, Media Molecule’s Dreams, and even authentic recreations built from scratch to replicate Kojima’s work. The newest iteration of the game is slightly different, however, with modder Andrea Gori releasing a full recreation of PT through an unexpected game....
