Konami’s US social media manager takes to Reddit to respond to fan questions and comments regarding Konami, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Silent Hill, and more. In 2015, Konami managed to alienate almost all of its dedicated fans through a series of head-scratching decisions that included high profile games being cancelled, major talent jumping ship, and the company switching its focus from console gaming to pachinko machines. Some think that the damage has been done, but Konami’s social media manager in the US believes that there is still hope for the company to win back its fans....

There was a time when Lapras almost went extinct in the Pokemon universe, but they were saved by new laws during the Sun & Moon era, and now there are too many of them. Lapras was one of the few Pokemon that every player received in Pokemon Red & Blue, as it’s given to them in the Silph Co. building. This ensured that the player would always have access to a Pokemon that could use Surf, as it was necessary to continue the game....

Earlier this month, Boss Key Productions launched LawBreakers, a brand new multiplayer FPS inspired by classic games like Unreal Tournament. Reception to the game has been broadly positive, but just a few weeks after it made its debut, its player count on Steam is worryingly low. Over the last 24 hours, the peak number of concurrent Steam users playing LawBreakers dropped to 364, down from a high of 2,500 when it was first released....

Ubisoft’s response to Rocket League is reportedly set to be unveiled during this year’s E3 in the form of what looks to be a cross between Fortnite and Rocket League itself. Screenshots of a game called Roller Champions have found their way to ResetEra. And leaks such as this one really should come as little surprise as it’s pretty much open season on sneaky reveals, given that E3 happens to be around the corner....

Since its first appearance on the PS1 in 1998, Spyro has garnered much attention from the gaming community. After conquering the charts with Old Town Road in March 2019 over 20 years ago, Lil’ Nas X has announced a follow up to his pop culture dominating mega hit. And there’s a welcome appearance in the trailer from another famous screen cowboy, Michael J Fox. The trailer, titled The Origins of “Holiday”, opens with the sample behind Old Town Road (34 from the Nine Inch Nails album Ghosts I-IV if you’ve ever wondered) and sees Lil’ Nas X ride through a time portal into the wild west....

Bryan Fuller’s cult hit series Hannibal is a spectacular take on the world of Hannibal Lecter—and it’s leaving Netflix next week. “Hannibal follows behavioral psychologist Will Graham (Dancy), who’s brought in by the FBI to assist with tracking down serial killers. To keep his fragile psyche in check, he’s assigned to regular sessions with Dr. Lecter (Mikkelsen), a forensic psychologist. Any self-respecting movie buff knows Lecter better as Hannibal the Cannibal, but Will is none the wiser as he endeavors to track down another killer, called the Chesapeake Ripper....

Between a Netflix series based on The Witcher, which is releasing later this year, and a Halo series that is currently in production, there is no shortage of forthcoming video game-based television shows for fans to get excited about. That said, production companies are showing no signs of slowing down on tapping video games as source material, and, to that end, it has just been announced that a live-action Final Fantasy TV series in the works....

Final Fantasy VII Remake will now be helmed by two creators, as it has been revealed that Naoki Hamaguchi has risen to the role of Co-Director alongside Tetsuya Nomura. Naoki Hamaguchi has been involved with the Final Fantasy series since Final Fantasy XII, before moving on to the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy and Final Fantasy XIV in various programming roles. Hamaguchi was the Project Leader on Mobius Final Fantasy before stepping down from the role in 2018 in order to focus on Final Fantasy VII Remake....

This past weekend felt extra long for my Madden 21 Franchise league members and I thanks to the EA servers being down from Thursday evening through Monday night. A hotfix update managed to get us back up and running, but only after restarting the game and our consoles multiple times. Frustrating? You bet. Surprised by the technical issues? Not so much. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the sequel to 2017’s Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, was officially revealed at Ubisoft Forward after the game’s Nintendo store page accidentally went live earlier today. While a sequel to Kingdom Battle was thought to be well underway, it had been kept firmly under wraps until today’s reveal at Ubisoft Forward. Or rather, it had been until Nintendo uploaded the game’s store page early, revealing several screenshots, the game’s release window of 2022, and the fact there are a roster of nine characters in Sparks of Hope....

The seventh episode of Marvel 616, the Disney+ documentary series promoting the Marvel brand, is titled “The Marvel Method.” It references the pioneering shift in comics work production that came about at the dawn of the Marvel era of comics, and is ostensibly about the fun, wacky way that Marvel comics get made today. What it actually portrays is a high-stress, broken production process. Also, nothing that happens in it is consistent with the traditional Marvel Method....

Marvel’s Avengers, a new action-adventure game starring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, is out in a month and developer Crystal Dynamics is using the run-up to the release to tell players much more about what they should expect when servers go live. One thing the studio has confirmed is that Spider-Man is joining the Avengers in 2021, but what should have been great news quickly left some fans outraged when it was revealed that the webslinger was only coming to PlayStation versions of the game....

Mass Effect Legendary Edition brought back the acclaimed science fiction games in an updated version. Along with graphical improvements, BioWare added all DLC content to the games and made a number of gameplay updates. The trilogy might show its age at times, but it is definitely worth playing. You might feel like your squadmates are your friends after the many hours the games demand to be finished. Shepard accompanies them in dangerous situations, suicide missions, adulthood rituals, and so many other things....

When it comes to BioWare RPGs, many fans have high expectations over the years. BioWare RPGs tend to have a wide, interesting cast of companions, a compelling narrative, and a more “general” approach to choices (depending on the game). Now, it seems a classic BioWare RPG is exactly what fans will get with Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. There’s one more thing fans expect, even if it’s not necessarily the best expectation....

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has debuted at number one in the UK boxed charts, continuing the recent merry-go-round at the top. New releases have been coming at us thick and fast recently meaning games aren’t enjoying much time at the top of the chart. New Pokemon Snap was number one for a week before being dethroned by Resident Evil Village, and now Village has been ousted after just seven days by Mass Effect: Legendary Edition....
