It’s hard to know what to make of Bugsnax. On the surface, it looks like some cuddly game about furry walrus people exploring an exotic island. But there’s a surprisingly dark undercurrent. Aside from the body horror of eating bugs that turn your fingers into hot dogs, the end of the first trailer shows some kind of monster devouring every food-shaped insect it can find and running at the camera. There’s also a bizarre journalism angle where you may be playing a reporter trying to uncover a sinister conspiracy....

Metroid Dread has been on Nintendo’s radar for so long that it was first mentioned in the press during the build to E3 2005. E3’s Nintendo Direct might have been lacking news about Metroid 4, but Samus wasn’t entirely absent. A return to the series’ sidescrolling roots was announced in the form of Metroid Dread. Noctis from Final Fantasy 15 has unofficially arrived to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as some talented modders have added the character to the game. Using Byleth’s moveset, the prince brought the Axe of the Conqueror and Trident of the Oracle to the battle, along with his infamous fishing rod. The render itself created by Jorge_SunSpirit makes the character look real, and if these modders wanted to spring a fake leak, Nintendo fans would probably jump all over it like when Rayman was believed to be in the game....

The title card for the new AMC series Kevin Can F**K Himself isn’t accompanied by a jaunty tune or a wild sound effect. When the title appears on the screen, it’s soundtracked by a smattering of aggressive laughter. Creeping up below the laughter is a distressing screeching noise, meant to indicate the rapidly fraying sanity of our heroine. So it’s quite fitting that Kevin Can F**K Himself makes a compelling case for why laugh tracks (or canned laughter) need to die a quick death....

Konami’s announcement of the restructuring of its gaming division was confusing. At first it seemed like they were getting out of the business, but now it seems like game development will continue. Many fans think they should just liquidate their gaming franchises and sell them off to the highest bidder. There are a lot of companies that would assuredly not only love to publish old games in new collections, but make new hits as well....

Great news for fans of the Legend of Heroes games: the latest in the series will hit Switch and PC sometime next year! In a recent live stream, it was revealed that the most recent game, The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki (Trails of the Beginning), would be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC, via Steam, in Japan in the Summer of 2021. This likely means that North America will begin seeing the series pop up on Switch and Steam beginning next year....

A new look at the cast of Glass Onion: A Knives Out mystery has been revealed, showcasing the star-studded ensemble. “Daniel Craig is ready to revive his southern accent.
