Although Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been keeping Metal Gear fans entertained since September, series’ creator Hideo Kojima has left Konami and is now working on a new game with Sony, leaving them to wonder what will happen to the franchise in the wake of his departure....

Loop Hero, the recently released strategy RPG from publisher Devolver Digital, will send players on a seemingly endless journey of discovery and combat. Walking a small loop built from hazy memories, players will need to battle the minions of an evil Lich that has cast the world into darkness. They won’t get far without potions, but there is some work involved in getting access to them. Unlike the myriad of RPGs on the market where healing is an opt-in process, in Loop Hero, it will happen automatically if players have potions in their inventory and require some healing....
Richard Garriott has a lot of money, what with being the creator of the Ultima franchise of video games, and he uses that money to be something of an anachronism, especially for 2021. In 1998, Garriott went to the South Pole. In 2018, he went to the North Pole, which is a lot harder to get to since technically there’s no continental landmass to walk across. According to the European Commission (EC), Microsoft will merge ZeniMax into a new subsidiary called Vault if the acquisition of Bethesda’s parent company is approved by the regulatory agency. The name Vault is believed to be a reference to Bethesda’s bestselling RPG series, Fallout. Microsoft announced plans to buy ZeniMax in September 2020 for an astounding $7.5 billion, making it the second-largest games deal after Tencent’s acquisition of a majority stake in Supercell....
