Following positive reception from the Tachyon Anomaly, Marvel’s Avengers will be permanently letting players play as the same heroes. The Tachyon Anomaly was a limited-time event back in April that allowed players to use the same characters on the same team. Previously only one player could use a character at a time, which proved to be a problem as some players would be locked out of using their favourite character. Now that’s looking to change, with the effects of the Tachyon Anamoly becoming permanent in July....

As if it needed to be said, Mass Effect: Andromeda was one of the most disappointing video games of 2017 for a number of reasons, with two of the main criticisms levied against the title being the writing’s inability to give players enough reason to care about its story, and the litany of bugs and glitches it included at launch and beyond. Sleepyhead Meitenkun is joining The King of Fighters 15 roster when the game releases sometime this year. This Chinese fighter received a new trailer and a bunch of screenshots for his announcement. SNK showcased Meitenkun’s unconventional fighting style, using a pillow as a bludgeon against his foes. He also uses chi energy to strike foes with powerful moves. The previous trailer for Meitenkun’s teammate Shun’ei was received poorly by the community, including popular Twitch streamer Maximillian Dood, who said that it was the worst way to show how the game is good....

Mobile gaming has become a huge market and developers are looking forward to new technology as phones become more powerful. An alleged internal review has been leaked, and it revealed a highly positive review for the game. “The Last of Us Part 2 is an exceedingly rare video game where what it accomplishes in moving forward the art of narrative storytelling in video games as a medium ultimately outweighs whether or not everyone “likes” it or even if everyone has “fun” playing it,” said the review....

With the Xbox Series X and Series S both launching on November 10, priced $500 and $300 respectively, Microsoft is going all out to celebrate the arrival of these next-gen consoles. Telltale reveals Minecraft: Story Mode is concluding its first season with Ep. 5 on March 29, with the developer also announcing an additional 3 episodes to be released in 2016. Minecraft: Story Mode’s thrilling conclusion… was in Episode 4. But Telltale Games isn’t happy leaving things as is. Episode 5 is near completion, with a launch date of March 29 now scheduled for the not-quite-a-conclusion to arrive. The Wither Storm finale may already have occurred, but the adventure is only just beginning - which is apparently why a mere five episodes just won’t do....

Telltale Games is partnering with several YouTubers to deliver the world’s largest live Let’s Play to promote Minecraft: Story Mode on October 12th. With less than a week to go before the first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode is set to release, Telltale Games is clearly looking to build up as much hype as they can for their take on the block-based phenomenon. Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ reign as the top-selling game on the Nintendo eShop has ended, as it has been usurped by Minecraft Dungeons. According to Benji-Sales on Twitter, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the #1 game on the Best-Sellers list on the US version of the eShop for three months. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has seen incredible success since launch, managing to challenge the likes of Pokémon Sword & Shield in terms of sales....

A Minecraft player found a way to set up an MS Paint system that allows users to convert their 2D creations into 3D structures. Although it seems like the mechanics of the MS Paint set-up are very complex, the creator confirmed on Reddit that the machine is pretty simple to use. The system was shown through a video that includes a few examples of how it works and it has been well-received overall....

In another major blow to the network that enveloped TechTV, Kevin Pereira has announced that he will be leaving Attack of the Show and its network, G4TV, after E3 concludes in June. This news comes shortly after the departure of Adam Sessler, the co-host of X-Play, and one of the original members of the TechTV team long before its merger with G4. Although the network has gone through countless revisions over the past several years, G4 remains one of the only channels with any real focus on the video game world....

Kinect is no longer a peripheral exclusive to the Xbox 360. Microsoft announced yesterday that the developer tools for the Windows PC version of Kinect is available to companies who want to experiment with the technology to enhance their internal operations with the device. Already, there have been a few individuals out there who have connected the original Xbox 360 device to their computers (and even a PS3) for creative uses, like using Kinect to enhance their game experiences for Skyrim, filtering the game through a program to enable players access to voice commands and mimicry to control onscreen action....

Kingdom Hearts 3 may be arriving somewhat later than expected, according to an announcement made during Saturday night’s Kingdom Hearts Orchestra event. Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura apologized, asking fans to wait just a little bit longer, and then announced that Kingdom Hearts 3 would officially launch on January 29, 2019. Up until today, Kingdom Hearts fans have been expecting a release date for the popular Disney and Square Enix mash-up action RPG in 2018....

Kingdom Hearts recently took part in a Nintendo Direct: Mini, where it premiered the Melody of Memory Nintendo Switch trailer, which, as the name suggests, highlighted the exclusives that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will have. It also revealed Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory’s release date. After the trailer aired, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura took to social media and told fans that the final Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory trailer would be premiering in a few days....

Riot Games is planning to merge the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Spring and Summer splits into one longer season, according to journalist Travis Gafford. The change has not been officially announced by Riot, though Gafford states that this move is likely to happen. The LCS 2021 season is expected to start in January. Launching in 2013, the LCS has had two splits each year since its inception. The Spring split typically runs from January until April, while the Summer season usually runs from June to September....
