In a recent blog post, Marvel’s Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics confirmed that they intend to release additional content that will be exclusive to PlayStation consoles. “We previously stated that we’re huge Marvel fans, but we’re also PlayStation fans,” reads the post from Andy Wong, Community & Social Media Manager for Crystal Dynamics. “We are honored to be working with them to provide additional advantages to PlayStation players. PlayStation players will have exclusive access to certain Community Challenges, where the PlayStation Nation will work together to accomplish a goal in order to gain rewards specific to them....

Black Panther hit theaters recently to great critical acclaim. Despite being another Marvel superhero movie in a long line of superhero movies, Black Panther stood out from the crowd. Instead of watching a guy fall into the role of superhero through trial and error, we got to see a hero rise. Prince T’Challa, after his father’s passing in Captain America: Civil War, returns home to Wakanda, ready to take on the role and responsibility of being a king of a nation....

Despite its strong initial sales, Mass Effect: Andromeda has hardly reached the same level of acclaim as the other entries in BioWare’s beloved sci-fi RPG series. Perhaps to try and stir further interest in the title, however, Electronic Arts has announced that the game will be available as a free, 10-hour trial for any gamers intrigued but unwilling to immediately part with cash. According to EA, this Mass Effect: Andromeda trial will run until November 1, 2017, and will offer up a fairly open look at the game in question, as both single player and multiplayer gameplay will be available through the trial....

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is finally here, and the modding community has already come together to deliver some more graphical fixes, shortcuts, and cheats that are all available to download right now. Judging from both critical and fan reactions, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition offers the best way to play the original trilogy by boasting updated textures and higher resolution, as well as increased frame rate on up-to-date systems and the option to play as female Shepard in the older titles....

When Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain dropped at the beginning of September, fans were thrilled to find that the game lived up to the huge expectations placed upon its shoulders. Revealed this morning by developer 4A Games, Metro Exodus will be getting a free “Enhanced Edition” upgrade on PC when the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions launch later this year. While there isn’t too much that will be different in terms of graphical make-up, the biggest change is that Exodus will have full support for Nvidia’s DLSS 2.0 technology. This should help with smoothing out framerates when playing at 4K resolution....

The latest iteration of Microsoft Flight Simulator is preparing to take off on August 18, boasting a photorealistic recreation of the entire planet that can be explored using a number of aeronautical vehicles, and free additions like VR support are already planned. To celebrate the upcoming release, Microsoft put out a video on August 13 rounding up gameplay from 11 prior Flight Simulator titles to show just how far the series’ graphics have come....

Last year saw the release of a new generation of video game consoles, and for millions of people around the world, attempts to buy one were fruitless. While the PS5 appears to be the more popular console out of the gate, the Xbox Series X/S is still much-desired, selling out almost as soon as they come into stock at retailers nearly two months after launch. Microsoft has released a number of very limited, custom Xbox One consoles over the years, usually as part of sweepstakes or third-party contests. It has now taken to Twitter to reveal its latest custom Xbox One X console and controller, which are based on the Nabisco cookie Oreos. While that may sound ridiculous to some people, the white and black-speckled console actually looks pretty cool. It almost looks like someone dipped an Xbox One into Oreo Fluff or Oreo-flavored ice cream....

No, this time, she’s soliciting free art from children under the guise of a competition to illustrate her new children’s book, The Ickabog. According to the website, The Ickabog is a story that Rowling wrote for her children many years ago before abandoning it for other projects, Harry Potter presumably being one among them....

I grew up idolizing Nintendo. True, I never gave much thought to the fact that they’re a giant corporation, which probably automatically implies some level of greed and sketchy behavior within the company. But every time I’ve heard “Nintendo,” my immediate follow-up thought was always “that awesome company that makes the best games.” Unfortunately, that nice little naïve view that I had might have just been destroyed by these newest leaked documents from Nintendo....
