Nintendo has unleashed Mario Kart Tour’s Summer Festival Tour, before the long haul of winter starts to set in. The Summer Festival will run until September 8 within the mobile game, and there’s a vibrant character with a wardrobe change here to kick off Week 1. There are always a couple of characters per Mario Kart race who aggravate your last nerve, whether by Bowser bashing or shouting their name as they drift past you....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has generally kept its continuity neat. For a series that spans about 20 films by this point, there was always a chance some plot points would be overlooked. And Marvel can’t be blamed for this either, as it must be an ardent task to keep all plots in line while building towards a finish like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. Telltale Games is going for the hat trick. After two major successes based on popular comic book series - The Walking Dead, based on the Image comic, and The Wolf Among Us, the prequel to Bill Willingham’s Fables series, which is published by Vertigo, a division of DC Comics - it looks like Telltale will bring its unique brand of story-driven adventure game to the last of America’s three big comic book publisher....

Marvel’s Avengers is still in its rebuilding process, and while the arrival of original Hawkeye Clint Barton and the next-gen versions of the game should help rekindle the spark, something bigger will be needed to keep players engaged. Spider-Man’s arrival to the game could be just what it needs, as the hero is undoubtedly Marvel’s most popular character of all time. That said, while it will be great to see what Crystal Dynamics does with its version of the webslinger, his arrival will likely serve as a double-edged sword....

Hulu recently dropped more details about its upcoming Marvel series Helstrom, releasing a trailer and confirming that every episode of the show would indeed be hitting Hulu’s service on October 16th. Officially announced back in 2019, Helstrom is a standalone series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring on the very subtly named Daimon and Satana Hellstrom. It was originally intended to be a part of Marvel’s “Adventure Into Fear” franchise, that was set to replace the company’s cancelled Netflix shows....

The video game developer BioWare officially reveals a brand new screenshot of the Tempest space ship from its forthcoming science fiction title Mass Effect: Andromeda. Just a couple of days ago, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn cited the Mass Effect series as an inspiration of his, and that he can’t wait to play the forthcoming entry in the franchise known as Mass Effect: Andromeda. Now, in order to thank the film director for his praise about the science fiction series, BioWare’s General Manager Aaron Flynn has officially released a new screenshot of the title’s Tempest ship on which twin protagonists Scott and Sara Ryder will bunk and explore the galaxy with their respective crews....

The team behind Strange Scaffold, which recently announced Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, will also be featured at ID@Xbox Twitch Gaming showcase this Friday. Michael B. Jordan’s rise to fame may have not been down to the Rocky franchise like Sylvester Stallone’s was, but Jordan is certainly following his footsteps both in Creed’s fictional boxing world and real life. Much like Stallone did, Jordan is now set to act and direct in Creed 3 as a recent interview confirmed. Jordan has been slowly adding executive producer credits to his name over the last few years in films like Creed 2, Fahrenheit 451, as well as the upcoming Just Mercy, Without Remorse (based on a Tom Clancy novel), and DC’s Static Shock, and had expressed interest in eventually directing Creed 3, with producer Irvin Wrinkler promising him a fair chance at the job....

Microsoft releases a new statement to apologize to the community and explain what happened following a retraction made to the company’s upcoming Xbox Play Anywhere feature. Earlier this week, Microsoft confirmed that its Play Anywhere feature for Xbox One and Windows 10, first revealed during the company’s presentation at E3 2016, would go live this September. As stated on the official Windows blog after E3, Play Anywhere was supposed to let gamers who purchased any future Microsoft Studios game on either Xbox One or Windows 10 get the game for free on the other platform....

Although it’s usually the Xbox 360 RROD (Red Ring of Death) problem that gets all of the headlines, some players have also suggested that the console’s disc drive is broken too, as small vibrations or movements lead to scratched, unplayable discs. Three years after the Xbox 360’s launch, 55,000 complaints were logged against Microsoft about the issue and so, in a class action lawsuit, players tried to take the company to court....

With all the streaming services out right now, various companies have been working to get game-streaming up and running in the current landscape. Several companies have made a few entries with Google Stadia and PlayStation Now, and Microsoft isn’t far behind with the Project xCloud streaming service. Of course, there have been concerns that Microsoft’s streaming service would take priority over game development on consoles and PC. Recently, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke on the matter and said the company will not neglect game development on either platforms while moving forward with the streaming service....

The second annual CODE Bowl is coming on December 11. This year’s competition will expand to include not just service members from the US armed forces, but also those from the UK as well. And just as last year, all proceeds from the tournament will go to supporting the Call of Duty Endowment which helps to find quality employment for veterans following their time in service. This year will mark the first time the UK will have service members take part in the competition....

The moment players build a Nether Portal and are able to travel through the gate to the Nether, it becomes a point of no return. For some, it’s an exciting adventure, but for others, it feels like a haunting and scary dimension where there’s nothing but misery and death waiting on the other side of the gate....

Modiphius Entertainment recently dropped a most excellent piece of news for the combined community of fans of the Homeworld video game series and avid tabletop roleplaying gamers. Construction on the Homeworlds: Revelations tabletop RPG has begun, based on the award-winning real-time strategy space combat Homeworld franchise that launched in 1999. Homeworld: Revelations is being produced by Modiphius under license from Gearbox Software LLC, who bought the rights to the franchise from THQ Inc....
