The Mass Effect games are full of vibrant, memorable characters, but of course some outrank others when it comes to naming favorites or the most loathsome. Most of the time, Mass Effect players are quick to name certain aliens as their favorite characters as opposed to naming a human as their favorite. Players interact with a lot of different alien races during their time in the Milky Way galaxy, but some are more well-received than others....

Fans of sci-fi games have lots to choose from these days, but two particular sci-fi games that tend to stand out are Mass Effect and Halo. Some fans might like both games. Others might think one is better than the other. After all, the Halo titles are almost purely FPS games (with some notable exceptions) while Mass Effect is plainly geared towards RPG fans. It has been a big few years for the critically acclaimed anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The show was released to Netflix in 2019, the first time the show was available on a streaming platform, and a special English blu-ray release was announced this year. Former Retro Studio design lead, Mike Wilkan, who worked on the three Metroid Prime games has claimed that porting the trilogy to Switch would be extremely difficult. He noted that while the first two games wouldn’t be too tough, porting the third one would be “a herculean effort” due to the Wii’s motion controls as compared to the Switch’s standard setup. As spotted by GameXplain (via VGC), Wilkan revealed this on a Metroid fan account on Facebook as a reply to a comment which asked about a Metroid Prime trilogy port for the Nintendo Switch....

It didn’t come as much of a surprise that Resident Evil Village’s file size will be larger than Resident Evil 7, but Resident Evil Village (with the inclusion of Resident Evil Re:Verse) will be almost twice the size of the previous game, coming in at about 50.02 GB for Xbox One and Xbox Series, according to the listing on the official Microsoft store that was recently updated. The game is set to be released on May 7th for past-gen consoles and current-gen consoles....

Players looking to complete Minecraft while experiencing every aspect of the game should definitely consider taking on the generated structures. While some are pretty easy to deal with, such as desert temples or shipwrecks, others like the Ocean Monument require a bit of planning. The Ocean Monument is one of the largest, if not the largest generated structure in the overworld of Minecraft. It only generates underwater, and is completely submerged, which is what makes it such a difficult structure to conquer....

Mojang has revealed that Minecraft’s Caves & Cliffs Part 1 update will add “up to” 91 new blocks to the game. In a video uploaded to the Minecraft YouTube page, Mojang developers Alexander and Brandon go into detail about some of the blocks being added in the upcoming first part of the Caves & Cliffs update, revealing the total number of blocks as 91 and detailing some of the more interesting additions....

Journey To The Savage Planet made a strong impression on me when it came out this past January. I was charmed by the brightly colored world densely packed with unique and silly aliens discover. It felt like a cross between a light-hearted Ratchet & Clank adventure and an exploration-centric game like Metroid Prime. It delivers a satisfying experience in about 10 hours with plenty of collectibles scattered around for completionists. Savage Planet has been at the top of my recommendation list all year....

Bandai Namco has announced the first DLC character for Jump Force. It is none other than Seto Kaiba, the fan favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! character who is probably even more well liked than Yugi himself. In addition to Kaiba, Bandai has unveiled its monthly plans for DLC content through August. Kaiba being confirmed raises an interesting question. Could the DLC leak from last month be accurate? A Youtuber named SergioM3 claimed to have found nine character names in the code after Jump Force’s patch 1....

Tripwire Interactive has revealed the newest seasonal update to Killing Floor 2, the team-based survival shooter. The Infernal Insurrection Update gives Killing Floor 2 a new map, more weapons, and creepy cosmetics; all with a Halloween theme. Although Killing Floor 2 launched in 2016, it has recently seen a resurgence in downloads and player count, with Tripwire Interactive reporting that 11 million copies of the game have been downloaded since July....

Changing a series mainstay, Kingdom Hearts 3 is ditching the three party member system. The latest Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer suggested more characters will be joining the party than ever before, which director Tetsuya Nomura later confirmed. The newest trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 premiered this weekend at D23, a biennial exposition event for Disney fans.
