After months of feedback and news that Sony has already sold a whopping 7 million PlayStation 4 units, Microsoft finally confirmed that it would be dropping the Kinect as a mandatory peripheral for its Xbox One. While this came as no surprise to those that have been following the company’s initial missteps with the platform, the new SKU (and resulting price drop) does show promise that the Xbox 360’s successor can remain relevant in the marketplace....

Mojang is preparing to launch Minecraft’s 1.11 update, which will add llamas, mansions filled with Illagers, and treasure maps, among many other changes. Mojang is hard at work, as ever, on the upcoming 1.11 update for the original PC version of Minecraft. Debuting what the team has been working at over the weekend during Minecon, Mojang’s “Exploration Update” adds several significant pieces of content including llamas, mansions, and maps. Larger system-based gameplay additions like enchanting and experience are absent, but Mojang is hoping to make up for that with pure content....

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered kicked off its first seasonal event today, dubbed Operation: Shamrock & Awe. The limited-time event will run from today through April 2nd, and will give Modern Warfare Remastered players a chance to earn St. Patrick’s Day-themed in-game rewards. Operation: Shamrock & Awe will bring a handful of new features to Modern Warfare Remastered during the event. Players will enjoy an updated map, free weekly Supply Drops, a chance to receive two free camos, and more....

Famed Rocky and Rambo actor Sylvester Stallone has been confirmed by The Suicide Squad director James Gunn himself to be playing King Shark. The character usually doesn’t say much beyond, “King Shark is a shark,” but in the trailer, he was seen flexing that fish brain of his by pointing out his own hand. Many speculated that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi would be playing the role, and as it stands, he’s the only one left without a confirmed character....

Joe Manganiello is one of the many returning faces for Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League. In the original theatrical cut the actor played Deathstroke in a post-credits scene that implied he would helping Lex Luthor form a squad of villains to oppose The Justice League. It has been reported for some time that Manganiello would be returning for re-shoots that will add to the nearly 4-hour runtime of the HBO Max version of the project, and lately the actor himself has posted an image of himself in costume yet again....

According to recent reports, iPhone creator Apple is planning to launch its very own mobile game subscription service, which has been described as a “Netflix of games.” However, analysts say that the iOS platform holder should think beyond this and should splash some major cash to beef up its gaming plans further. In a note published by J.P. Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee earlier today, it was suggested that Apple should buy Activision Blizzard, the publisher of Call of Duty and the parent company of (Overwatch and World of Warcraft developer) Blizzard Entertainment....

Judgment is a spin-off title of Ryu Ga Gotoku’s popular Yakuza franchise. It’s set in the same fictional city of Kamurocho and sees players stepping into the role of private detective Takayuki Yagami as he investigates the serial killer known as “the Mole”. A lot of the gameplay is familiar to fans of the Yakuza series, and there are plenty of quirky and interesting sidequests for players to explore. Jurassic World: Dominion is fast approaching release, and it looks to be bringing the six-movie franchise full circle with the return of original Jurassic Park cast members Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. The long-awaited Critical Mode difficulty for Kingdom Hearts 3 now officially has a release date. According to the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account, Critical Mode will be offered as free DLC to all Kingdom Hearts 3 players starting tomorrow, April 23rd. In the message, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura warns that, “We’ve changed things up from previous games,” but looks forward to players enjoying Critical Mode for themselves. Critical Mode is a difficulty setting introduced in Kingdom Hearts 2 as part of its Final Mix rerelease (western audiences first experienced it in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep....

Kingdom Hearts 3 is set for release in just over two weeks, and fans that have pre-ordered the new action RPG will be receiving various bonuses with their copies. For some pre-orderers, these bonuses will include exclusive Keyblades to be wielded in-game, and Square has recently shared several videos offering a first look at these weapons in action. Players that pre-order a digital copy of Kingdom Hearts 3 through the PlayStation Store, or were lucky enough to secure a limited edition Kingdom Hearts 3 PlayStation 4 bundle, will receive the Midnight Blue Keyblade....

LG has unveiled a new phone that, at a glance, could be mistaken for something from a decade ago. The Ice Cream Smart is a flip phone, but unlike the older shell-like mobiles this one is smart. Similar to the LG Wine Smart handset released last September, the Ice Cream Smart features the Kakao Talk button. This allows people to use a physical button to access the Kakao app which connects them directly with voice chat....

Netflix’s upcoming assassin movie starring Karen Gillan and Lena Headey, Gunpowder Milkshake, looks incredibly promising in its new trailer. “Hollywood loves an assassin movie—the melodramatic revenge plots, stylized fighting sequences, and potential for a full-blown franchise. Some turn out to be disappointing (like last year’s Ava), but others turn out to be sleek and incredibly watchable, like the John Wick movies. This summer, Netflix is releasing its own assassin saga and, cutesy name aside, Gunpowder Milkshake does not appear to be messing around....
