Joystick and thumbstick drift has become a hot button issue in 2020. First, Nintendo took fire over apparently faulty Joy-Cons that would constantly drag players left and right even if the thumbstick appeared to be centered. Now, Microsoft joins in with a similar issue centered around the Elite Series 2 controller. As revealed in a recent lawsuit, Microsoft has received multiple complaints from Elite Series 2 controller owners that thumbsticks are drifting away from their initial calibrations....

One of the most celebrated real-time strategy games in history, Age of Empires, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. In recognition of the award-winning game, Microsoft is remastering it as Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, which is expected to launch at some point later this year. Microsoft announced Age of Empires: Definitive Edition at E3 2017 during the PC Gaming Show press conference. Instead of just slapping a fresh coat of paint on the game and calling it a day, it sounds like Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will be a full-fledged remaster, with 4K resolution graphics and online multiplayer that will utilize Xbox Live’s servers....

Telltale Games has returned with another season of Minecraft: Story Mode for you to get your point and click adventure fix. After less than a year since its release, Ghost of Tsushima has bagged itself a film adaptation with John Wick’s stuntman turned director Chad Stahelski taking the helm. With Stahelski, Alex Young, and Jason Spitz’s own company, 87Eleven Entertainment, they are producing this video-game adaptation, while Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are producing on behalf of PlayStation Productions. The developer, Sucker Punch Productions, is attached as executive producer, while Peter Kang is overseeing the film....

Jon Favreau has teamed up with VR publisher Wevr to develop the upcoming game, which has been 5 years in the making. Now, the game will make its debut later this month. Gnomes & Goblins VR is an open-world fantasy game where players will go on an adventure to explore an enchanted forest filled with unique characters, artifacts, and mini-games....

Jurassic World Alive may not have caused the same worldwide phenomenon as Pokemon GO, but the mobile AR game does seem to be building a serious community of players. The game tasks players with heading out into the real world to find dinosaurs and gather resources and plays out in a very similar way to Pokemon GO. The studio behind 2017’s LawBreakers has a new game coming to Steam Early Access tomorrow. Radical Heights is a free-to-play battle royale shooter set in 2023, yet presented with an ‘80s-inspired aesthetic. Moving on after studio head Cliff Bleszinski said LawBreakers failed to reach an audience, Boss Key Productions announced Radical Heights today in a news release. In the statement, Boss Key describes their new free-to-play game as a “scavenger hunt survival shooter where cash is king," describing its development status as “X-TREME Early Access” and noting that the core gameplay experience is complete....

A leaked pitch presentation for Sly Cooper 4 reveals that it was originally called Sly Cooper: Thiefnet and had cooperative multiplayer elements. The pitch was found by the Sly Cooper modding Discord and posted on the Sly Cooper Reddit. The presentation is a zip file that contains several videos and images that appear to be Sanzaru Games pitching the fourth entry to Sony. The pitch is very interesting in that it shows a very different Sly 4 to the one we ended up getting....

The first official reveal trailer for Madden NFL 21 was posted today, giving NFL fans insight into what this year’s edition of the annual release has to offer. After years of remaining steadfast in antiquated and restrictive beliefs, Microsoft is finally looking to change their ways. The console manufacturer has expressed interest in removing certain apps from behind its Xbox Live Gold pay wall in order to match its competition. Ars Technica reports that sources within Microsoft have claimed the company will soon remove many of its streaming media services from behind the Xbox Live Gold pay wall. That reportedly includes Netflix and Hulu, two of the more oft-used apps when it comes to media streaming....

The timetable has been released for the Tokyo Game Show 2020, and it features a 50-minute presentation from Xbox, as well as presentations from some of gaming’s biggest developers.
