It’s been nearly 20 years since the first Metal Gear Solid game landed on the PlayStation. Though it wasn’t the first stealth game ever, it was definitely an early contender that helped popularize —and is now synonymous with the— genre. Not only that, but Kojima’s lovechild has also pervaded our culture. I mean, just try walking past a stack of boxes without getting the urge to hide. It changed the way we interacted with games, pushing us out of our comfort zone and challenging us to think outside of the box....

’80s action hero Michael Biehn has been rather busy again as of late, lending his vocal talents to not one, but two different video game projects. Tapped up by Gearbox Software to appear in their quasi-sequel shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines, Biehn’s first foray into video game voice work (he acted in the live-action cutscenes of Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun) appears to have resulted in a less-than-pleasant experience for all involved....

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson helped unveil the very first Xbox console to the world 20 years ago. Fast-forward to today, he and Microsoft are teaming up once again, this time to give away Xbox Series X consoles to children’s hospitals around the U.S. The former wrestler-turned-highest-paid-actor is no stranger to charity, similarly donating money to various non-profit organizations. In 2006, the actor founded his own charity, the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation....

The internet has been stirred up about the possibility of Xbox dropping Xbox Live Gold and maybe even making multiplayer gaming on Xbox free. Up until now, there’s been no official comment on the matter from Xbox, but the company has since decided silence wasn’t working out. A Microsoft spokesperson recently stated that there are “no changes being made to […] Xbox Live Gold.” And further, that Microsoft has “no plans to discontinue Xbox Live Gold at this time....

While Microsoft might not be gearing up for a big console debut during E3 2012, they have revealed plans to focus on software/hardware related to their current pieces of tech, the Xbox 360 and Kinect. It’s still anyone’s guess as to what exactly Microsoft might be revealing during video game’s biggest expo, but a new rumor has clued us into one of those new devices. In connection with a new “game” called Kinect Play Fit, Microsoft is rumored to be developing a heart rate monitor peripheral currently code-named Joule that will track player’s performance over a wide variety of games....

Minecraft has more than its fair share of mods that drastically alter its content, add new gameplay elements or sending you off on unique adventures. It’s easy to overlook some of the smaller visual mods, but these extra additions can do wonders in improving your experience with the game and making it more immersive. Of course, Minecraft has always stood out from the big sea of games in part because of how uniquely stylized its blocky graphics are, so trying to transform its visuals into something else isn’t the aim of these mods....

Today, the first Global Build Championship for Minecraft: Education Edition was announced during Minecraft Live 2020....

In a massive roster shakeup, the Minnesota RØKKR have decided to bench Adam “GodRx” Brown in favor of Kaden “Exceed” Stockdale ahead of the Call of Duty League 2020 playoffs. This news comes off a poor showing from Minnesota in the second half of the season as they continued to see themselves slip to eighth in the overall standings heading into the playoffs. In a video explaining the decision, the coaches cited Minnesota’s slow play a big reason for the downturn once the online format began....

One of the most memorable games in the Call of Duty franchise is Modern Warfare 2. For years since the newest generation of consoles were released, fans have been begging for a remaster of the iconic 2009, first-person shooter game released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. It’s often held as one of the greatest in the franchise with it’s highly addicting multiplayer and immersive campaign mode. The campaign has thankfully finally been remastered but seems to have left out the highly anticipated multiplayer mode....

Even the original stars of the first film—Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum—are back alongside current leads Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard for what has been advertised as a true grand finale....

From the offset, Zack Snyder’s Justice League (also known as the Snyder Cut) has done things a little differently. Given $50m and free-reign to make the DCEU team-up film that he always wanted, Snyder has revamped and retooled nearly every part of his original 2017 film. From Superman (Henry Cavill) finally getting his iconic black suit to Cyborg (Ray Fisher) actually being given a side-plot of his very own, every character in the film looks to be getting something special in this upcoming mini-series… and the Joker is no different....

With Kingdom Hearts 3 having been out for a little more than a month now, it’s safe to presume that many players have already made their way through the majority of the base game and are turning their attention toward post-launch wares. As it so happens, the role-playing game’s director, Tetsuya Nomura, recently reiterated that fans will have even more content to come, with both free and paid DLC confirmed as currently being in development....

Kingdom Hearts 3 might be in the hands of fans, but the series isn’t done yet, as Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that the developers of the game are already working on something new. The entirety of the Kingdom Hearts franchise up to this point takes place in something called the Dark Seeker Saga, which concluded at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. There are still Kingdom Hearts mobile games in development, as well as the upcoming rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, but the future of the mainline entries has been left up in the air....

This one isn’t about turning back the clock or moving objects with your mind....
