Without a doubt, the eventual availability of both Kingdom Hearts 3 and the Final Fantasy 7 remake will likely cause gamers everywhere to breathe a collective sigh of relief once they’ve officially hit store shelves, as both titles seem to have been in development for quite a while. In 2014, actress Lindsay Lohan sued Rockstar Games, alleging that the video game company used her likeness to create the character of Lacey Jonas in Grand Theft Auto 5. Lohan also alleged that Rockstar Games had incorporated her image in the game, including her likeness, her hairstyle, and even the items available as part of her clothing line. In 2016, a five-judge panel in the state of New York dismissed the lawsuits brought against Rockstar Games by Lohan and Karen Gravano, a reality TV personality who had accused Rockstar of using her likeness....

The live E3 2021 event seems to have been canceled, leaving the reported digital event in its stead. Last year’s E3 was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and it looks like the live E3 2021 event has followed suit. All signs point to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) putting together a digital E3 program this year, something in partnership with developers and publishers as it does with the standard event....

It wasn’t long after Media Molecule introduced the world to its sandbox game engine Dreams that game designers the world over took advantage of the game’s included development kit. Now the developer says there’s a good chance that user-created games may one day be sold. Media Molecule began their journey by helping to develop two rather successful series in Tearaway and LittleBigPlanet. They then used the experience that they gained to develop Dreams, a game that allows users to make and share their creations with the world....

Microsoft may not have announced the Xbox 720 at its E3 Press Conference, but it unveiled something equally as cool: Xbox SmartGlass. The new feature will allow gamers to stream media from Xbox 360 to tablets and mobile phones. SmartGlass will launch this Fall for Windows 8, Windows Phone and “other portable devices” – which hopefully means it will have iOS and Android support. The application will connect phones, tablets, PCs and game consoles, giving users extra “relevant content,” such as tips on how to take down a game’s boss....

When Microsoft announced the Xbox One X, it stated that the console would be capable of “high fidelity” virtual reality gaming. The new console launches next month but Microsoft has yet to fully detail its Xbox VR gaming plans, and in a new interview the company has now explained why it has kept so quiet. Albert Penello, the senior director of product management and planning at Microsoft, says there is “still a tonne of experimentation in VR....
