Earlier this year, Minecraft creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson and and his Mojang co-founders made a cool $2.5 billion when they sold the company to Microsoft. That sort of money can buy you just about anything — even the luxury Beverly Hills ‘megamansion’ that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were hoping to call their own. It’s being reported that Notch has purchased the home for $70 million. For that sizeable sum, he’ll receive a mansion that sports eight bedrooms, fifteen bathrooms and a car showroom....

The Spelunky games pride themselves on being punishingly tricky to the point of comedy. Spelunky made a name for itself in the roguelite and platforming genres by upping the challenge for those willing to take it on. Then last year, Spelunky 2 increased the toughness even further by punishing veteran players that had grown used to the levels and obstacles put forth in the original games, but Minute of Islands is quite the opposite....

Now that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is out for PC and Xbox One, fans can play through the campaign section of the game with a fresh coat of paint. But if the uncovered data is to be believed, Activision plans to release the multiplayer and spec-ops game modes for the game later on in the future. The report comes from a group of PC dataminers, who were able to dig through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered’s game files....

Scooby-Doo has always walked a wobbly line between kid-friendly antics and grown-up gags. Although one of the many cartoon series Hanna-Barbara produced in the late ’60s and ’70s, complete with bubble-gum pop tunes and recycled animation, Scooby-Doo is fundamentally a horror show starring hippies. It didn’t take too much imagination to see why Scooby and Shaggy were always hungry. Even better, Scooby-Doo ended every episode by revealing that capitalism was the true monster, predating “elevated horror” by several decades....

It may come as a surprise that the BioShock series has only been around for a little over four years now. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory received an announcement trailer earlier this week, but it was in Japanese, so the only way viewers unfamiliar with the language could understand what was going on was through fan translations. Luckily, only a few days after the trailer’s reveal, Square Enix has released the trailer’s English counterpart with official translations. That’s not all either. In a Japanese press release held shortly after the airing of the original Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory trailer, Square Enix released the game’s very first batch of screenshots....

Looking at a Risk game board today is nearly identical to looking at one of the original boards from 1957. So what happens when a Risk game board is paired with a Metal Gear Solid motif? To quote Old Snake “War has changed.” Or at least it will change now that Konami has announced Risk: Metal Gear Solid Limited Edition, which is set to sneak out and put us into a headlock of childhood nostalgia....

Last Year: The Nightmare made its initial debut at PAX East 2018 and was even playable at the show, but very little of the project has been seen since. That changed this week when Elastic Games updated the asymmetrical survival game’s website with twelve new screenshots depicting everything from the killers to the various locations players will have to traverse in their journey through East Side High School. The basic setup of Last Year: The Nightmare is that a group of five teenagers finds themselves trapped in an alternate version of their hometown of Forest Hills....

Riot Games have officially released full information about Fiddlesticks’ new rework. Everything from what the classic champion looks like, moves, and plays like has all been revealed, and to most, it’s quite overbearingly scary in an epic way. Are you ready to be jump scared while playing League of Legends? Fiddlesticks has been designed to look more of what he should resemble as the Harbinger of Doom. The champion is covered in black, gray, and scarlet hues - all of which compliment the champion’s fright factor....

Turtle Rock Studios ended support for Evolve, its asymmetrical multiplayer game, almost a full year ago. Fans of the developer, which also created the original Left 4 Dead, have been eager to find out what the company has been up to since. Today, the team behind Left 4 Dead finally revealed what it has been working on during the last year or so. The Well is Turtle Rock Studios’ upcoming VR game, and it has been described as an “immersive fantasy RPG” that has “gorgeous art and unique visuals unlike anything seen in VR....

Nintendo and LEGO have an interesting deal worked out to release LEGO Super Mario sets starting this August that will take the popular building block toys above and beyond their usual means by giving Mario interactive digital screens. Today LEGO announced that the $60 Super Mario Starter Course Bundle will be released alongside four separate $9.99 Power-Up Packs giving the portly plumber abilities from a variety of his popular video games....

Once upon a time, gamers looked to traditional print reviews to help them decide whether or not they should buy a game, but in the past decade or so this has changed massively. These days, one prime source of information about upcoming or just released games are Let’s Play videos, where someone plays the game in question for a throng of avid viewers. But as well as information, Let’s Plays also offer serious entertainment value as reactions to horror games like Until Dawn and Five Nights at Freddy’s give viewers something to laugh at....

The Madden franchise and I go way back.
