The success of Marvel’s projected multiverse will depend on the establishment of an internally consistent time-travel logic. After Avengers: Endgame played heavily with temporal concepts and then WandaVision followed directly in its footsteps, it looks as though Phase 4 is being set up to be all about multiple timelines. Seeming to continue in that theme is the upcoming Disney+ series Loki, as new official merchandise for the show appears to tease another intricate time-travel storyline....

I’m not saying that it’s impossible to make good comic book hero games. Just look at Spider-Man and Arkham Knight to see great examples of what game designers can do when they’re given some established intellectual property to play with. But Marvel’s Avengers is definitely not going to be considered a successful comic book/game crossover. At this rate, it’s not clear if Marvel’s Avengers will be remembered for much of anything but as an example of how not to create a blockbuster live game....

Gameplay footage for Marvel’s Avengers, developed by Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics, has been leaked following its debut during a San Diego Comic Convention panel. According to a BioWare producer, the video game developer continues to search for the right “balance” when it comes to Mass Effect: Andromeda’s planet sizes. Considering the fact that Mass Effect: Andromeda is currently in the process of being developed, it only makes sense to find out that aspects such as facial animations are still being polished. Of course, it’s safe to say that BioWare is certainly extending all of its efforts to refine every aspect of the science fiction title before it’s release, as it has also been revealed that the developer is “still tweaking” the different sizes of Mass Effect: Andromeda’s various planets, according to one of the game’s producers....

Along with the promise that our decisions would have galaxy-wide consequences (which turned out to be…mostly true), one of Mass Effect‘s biggest selling points was the ability to command a ship and assemble a squad of companions that would join us on our journeys and help us fulfill our Star Trek dreams. While Shepard is the star of the Mass Effect trilogy, it’s hard to deny that some of the game’s most compelling characters are the ones who serve alongside him aboard the Normandy and stand by his side during the game’s most dangerous adventures....
