Since Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain’s release, many have surmised that it would go down as the last numbered entry in the classic video game series. However, actress and singer Donna Burke, who has been in previous Metal Gear Solid games, seems to have teased something new on the way for the franchise after posting a video to Twitter, featuring references to the Metal Gear. To be specific, the video in Burke’s tweet shows the singer and voice actress pacing as she encourages a man at a desk to turn up the volume to what is presumably a newly-recorded track for a “secret project....

Post-apocalyptic survival game Pioner has a brand-new trailer showcasing its combat systems and weapon modifications. Pioner is the debut project from GFA Games Studio with heavy inspiration from Metro, Stalker, and Escape From Tarkov. The game was officially unveiled a few weeks ago and is currently in the pre-alpha stage, but this new video gives us an in-depth look at the game’s combat systems and character controls. The devs decided to “stray away from slow and clunky movement” often used in other traditional survival games in favour of a classic, speedy FPS flow....

Microsoft officially threw its hat into the tablet ring this year, with the Surface tablet’s June reveal causing quite the frenzy among tech enthusiasts. Just a few months later, we finally know the price and availability details for Microsoft’s latest product. The Surface with Windows RT tablet will land on store shelves this Fall, with a release date October 26th, 2012, in the US and Canada. The product can be purchased at all Microsoft Stores, with online availability set for Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, as well as the US and Canada....

These days, the term “exclusive” is used fairly frequently when describing AAA game releases - and it’s rarely what consumers think. Some games may be announced exclusive for one platform (as Sony did for GTA5 on next-gen), while others may merely be timed exclusives (as Microsoft plans for Rise of the Tomb Raider). But in the case of Destiny, things are a little different. The wealth of exclusive content coming to both the PS3 and PS4 shows that Sony is betting big on Bungie’s new persistent online title, but in the UK, that exclusivity means Microsoft can’t even advertise that Destiny will be coming to Xbox as well....

It’s been six months since the world learned that Telltale Games is creating an episodic Minecraft game. During this year’s MineCon event, Mojang finally revealed Minecraft: Story Mode’s first trailer, which depicts an active and densely populated Minecraft world, and shows players interacting with a choose-your-own-adventure-styled narrative. In Minecraft: Story Mode, players assume the role of Jesse, who plays the game with a tight-knit group of friends. Jesse and his buddies revere a group of players called the Order of the Stone, a group of four other players who rose to fame after slaying an elder dragon....

You did read that correctly. While for many, Minecraft is just a relaxing, sandbox game, it will forever be known to me as the place where I first had my wedding. As It Takes Two helped my partner and me navigate relationship struggles later down the road, Minecraft is yet another example of how video games have played a part in completely changing my life. I don’t have many gripes with the Legend of Zelda, I’ve enjoyed my time with the series through most of its iterations. I always look forward to my time with Link and could ramble about my adoration for Majora’s Mask for hours. There’s a bit of a sore spot there, though. Over the last year, a lot of people have been working from home or stuck indoors for most of the day. While this is obviously not ideal, one silver lining is that you can listen to more music and podcasts, or have a Twitch streamer or TV show open on a second screen. There’s always something to keep yourself entertained while the world falls apart outside. I’ve been aware of Twitch for years but never really used it until last year, when I’d have Twitch open on my phone while plugging away at my dissertation....

In the middle of today’s State of Play stream, Ember Lab showed off a new trailer for its action-platformer Kena: Bridge of Spirits. One of the highlights of last year’s PS5 gameplay reveal the company confirmed that Kena will be hitting both current and last-generation platforms on August 24, 2021. While the trailer didn’t contain much that wasn’t already known, it still looks absolutely wonderful. I’m not sure if the power of the PS5 is being put to full use here, but I’m down with the Asian themes and cartoony visuals....

Although it’s still no Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity continues to put up great numbers on the Nintendo Switch, by Koei Tecmo’s own accounts, the best-selling Musou title of all time shows no signs of getting off The Legend of Zelda wave that’s already pushed sales up to 3.7 million copies shipped. In the midst of what was a bit of a dry spell in terms of new releases for Nintendo, most of the game’s sales came within the first week of its launch, in which 3 million copies were quickly grabbed by eager Zelda fans keen to find out just what Age of Calamity’s prequel story was all about....

Konami has announced it will be shutting down the servers for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, the mobile multiplayer spin-off to the once-proud Castlevania series, on September 9, 2020. If you haven’t been actively following Konami related stories over the years, this move basically signals the death of Castlevania as we know it. Having launched last September, this closure means the game will have only been available for roughly one year. That’s probably not what fans had expected, especially with Konami giving multiple statements in support of its new mobile venture....

Instead of crafting or buying most of these, Kynseed drops them right at your front door. Or somewhere near your front door. You just have to find them. In Kynseed, getting your first wooden bucket, watering can, and fishing rod is easy. Retrieving them is part of the prologue where you’ll start learning how to use these tools....

For several weeks the WWE has been teasing a “revolution,” and they’ve finally revealed what form this revolution will take… a new video game! The first ever trailer for WWE 13 has just been leaked, and much to the delight of many hardcore wrestling fans, the current WWE Champion CM Punk will be the poster boy for the title. The trailer is a blend of a live action promo and actual WWE 13 gameplay, but it’s more than enough to get gamers excited for what’s coming later this year....

A VALORANT leaker is reporting the game will offer a free-for-all mode, along with a new agent, a fresh weapon skin bundle, left-handed support, and a timeout option after mining the latest patch. Valorant Express, a growing social media account providing leaks as it pertains to the title, laid bare a number of details and images over the last few days that should leave fans of the game pretty excited....
