The Square Enix E3 press conference brought with it some much-awaited details for the upcoming Avengers video game. As well as a title and release date we also found out more about the characters, storyline, and setting. A number of different people from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics brought news which included a trailer, gameplay footage and details of the title. There was even a surprise clip of someone unexpected at the end....

The Unstoppable Wasp is joining the roster of tabletop deck-building game Marvel Champions. This news follows the announcement of the Wasp Hero Pack and Game Mat by Fantasy Flight Games. Marvel Champions has been receiving regular updates since its launch last year in November. It is a cooperative deck-building game for 1-4 players aged 14+. Players must work together to beat some of the most nefarious villains of the Marvel comic book universe....

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics held a special ‘War Table’ reveal event for the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers, revealing new details about what players can expect from the full game alongside new gameplay. Previously described as a Destiny-style online multiplayer game, the new stream offered a look at story missions, multiplayer, the new hub world, dozens of new hero costumes from decades of comics, and a small tease at the game’s post-launch support....

There’s only a couple of months away before Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite hits shelves, and new information about the game has surfaced today in the form of an official ESRB rating. While the T rating was expected, what proved to be an entertaining surprise was the ESRB’s rating summary of the fighting game as it reveals that a character will be chugging alcoholic drinks mid-match. One of Sony’s big surprises this year at E3 2017 came from Capcom, who announced that players could go on the PlayStation Store and download a story demo for its upcoming crossover fighter, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite. For those who may not have had a chance to play through the demo, a new video from former IGN editor and current PlayStation social media manager, Ryan Clements, and Capcom’s own Peter ‘ComboFiend’ Rosas take players through the story demo and provide more insight into the game....

In the Mass Effect universe, Commander Shepard is the galaxy’s hero, and the Commander recruits all kinds of allies for the fight, from the suave Miranda Lawson to the hotheaded Turian Garrus Vakarian to the archeologist Liara T’Soni. And, of course, there is the matter of Urdnot Wrex, a Krogan mercenary. Wrex stood out among the original Normandy’s crew, and he went on to make Krogan history with his bold vision of Krogan unity and peace, to erase centuries of barbarism and despair....

While showing off some of the new options available in multiplayer, Fernando Melo, a producer for Mass Effect: Andromeda, accidentally revealed on Twitter that players will be able to select a female Krogan as their playable character. This is a big change from earlier Mass Effect games, where players were restricted to males of the massive berserker species. Following the news that BioWare cancelled the multiplayer beta test for their upcoming game, Melo took to Twitter to inform fans about what multiplayer would look like when Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on March 21....

The last couple installments of the Mass Effect series seem to have missed the mark set by the rest of the franchise, especially after the resounding success of Mass Effect 2. While Mass Effect 3 and Andromeda brought new features like multiplayer to the series, they’ve lost some of the magic that made the sci-fi storytelling so enthralling in the first place. Looking forward now to Mass Effect 5, the rumored sequel that some fans hope will revitalize the series, BioWare may want to look at a different series for new features....

Virgin Gaming and DICE are teaming up to give gamers one more reason to play Battlefield 3 day and night after it releases. The two are joining forces to host what could be the largest online tournament ever, with the winner walking away with 1.6 million dollars. There are no details on the dates and times for this tournament, as the only thing we know is that it will take place sometime in 2012, well after the game has released and players have had enough time to hone their skills....

This past week it was confirmed that Michel Ancel, the lead designer of the original Rayman, was retiring from Ubisoft and the industry entirely. Both Ubisoft and Ancel have now confirmed that Ancel left during an ongoing Ubisoft investigation into his behavior as a manager. Accusations against Ancel include abusive interactions with employees, as well as a toxic managerial style that led to continued reworks and restarts on projects that drove employees to their limit....

Smash.gg, the tournament organizer platform, has been acquired by Microsoft today. Smash.gg is an esports platform that specializes in organizing tournaments. Created back in 2015, the online tool began as a competitive bracket host just for Super Smash Bros. tournaments. Since then, it has expanded to include games such as Street Fighter, Fortnite, and Rocket League. While there are other bracket websites like Challonge, Smash.gg revolutionized the space with Twitter integration and making it easier for organizers to host events....

With the next generation of consoles on the horizon, there is plenty of speculation about what features the new generation will have. Fans waiting for the Xbox Series X should not hold their breath for VR on the console as Phil Spencer said it was not a focus for the company. Minecraft may not have made any big splashes at E3 2014 this year, but Mojang did make a pretty big announcement regarding the monetization of Minecraft servers. The Sweden-based studio has refrained from going in detail about this subject before, but has now released an official set of rules for administrators to abide by if they wish to offset server costs with monetization. Previously, the only official way to make money off of Minecraft was from monetizing YouTube videos featuring the game, so this is big news for those who like to play online....
