Melody of Memory is a pretty remarkable victory lap for the Kingdom Hearts series. Kingdom Hearts’ main theme Dearly Beloved has been a tradition within the long-established series as it holds a special place in fans’ hearts. The song’s composer Yoko Shimomura has finally given us the origin of this beautiful piece and how it came together. During an in-depth interview with the game’s publisher, Square Enix, Shimomura explained that “she was struck by a lot of imagery about the sea” when first approached about the project....

Iconic Capcom designer Kinu Nishimura has designed a wonderful ensemble piece for some new Capcom Store products. The artwork features characters from Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Justice Academy, and more. Announcing on Twitter, the official page for the Capcom Store Japan revealed the artist’s new college of Capcom characters. Ryu from Street Fighter dominates the foreground, while Mega Man (Rockman), Dante from Devil May Cry, Jill from Resident Evil, and even a Palico from Monster Hunter can be spotted in the wonderful arrangement - honoring 37 of Capcom’s characters....

It what amounts to rather unsurprising news, LEGO is looking to capitalize on another licensed property with their ever-lasting creative construction toys. With 20 million registered users and an uncanny inherent likeness to LEGO blocks, Minecraft is set for an easy transition to another form of non-digital merchandise. Nintendo has revealed more information about the upcoming Lego Super Mario set, with a starter set that will launch in August and two expansion kits arriving in the future. Nintendo announced a collaboration with Lego back in March, as part of the 35th-anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series. The Lego Super Mario set involves an electronic figure with Bluetooth compatibility, which allows it to interact with different parts of the set in order to change Mario’s expression and turn the toy into a game....

Loop Hero seems like a simple game when players first start playing. The hero travels around the loop, gathering resources and fighting enemies. Upon reaching the campfire, players can decide to leave or risk another turn around the loop. As they defeat monsters, they get better loot, new tiles to make interesting combinations, and all manner of useful things to bring back to the camp. Deep beneath the surface is a far more complex beast, filled with hidden mechanics and secrets that make Loop Hero a seriously addictive game....

Mike Nichols, chief marketing officer for Xbox, states that the majority of Xbox One Kinect owners still utilize the device on a regular basis, but not for gaming. It may come as a surprise to some, but Microsoft claims that the majority of Xbox One owners that also own the Kinect peripheral still actively use the device. However, they are using it more to navigate menus and to sign in to their Xbox accounts than to play video games....
