Microsoft announced yesterday that it’s confirmed a new contract with the United States Army to provide 120,000 augmented reality (AR) headsets to its soldiers. Microsoft estimates that the contract will be worth a total of around $21.88 billion over the next 10 years. The headsets will be based on Microsoft’s HoloLens mixed reality technology, and will be enhanced by the company’s Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) design, as well as their Azure cloud services....

With a little over a month left until release, WB and Monolith are preparing to go big with its follow-up to the acclaimed Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. The developer is planning a bigger story, more unique orcs to fight, and an expanded Nemesis System. Even though Monolith may have stepped into a bit of controversy lately with its inclusion of microtransactions and loot boxes into the predominantly single player Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the team is using DLC to help a family in need and honor a fallen member of the studio....

Recently, Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered came out, giving players a chance to relive the classic 2009 first-person shooter. In Japan, video game bars have notoriously encountered legal issues over the years. Despite their popularity, the Association of Copyright for Computer Software (ACCS) has noted that not getting permission from creators can violate copyright laws. In 2011, ACCS called on game bars across Japan to follow copyright laws, yet in 2018, several video game bars were shuttered over copyright claims. Now, a new establishment called Tokyo Video Gamers will open in Akihabara this September, claiming to be the first video game bar to have official consent from several game makers....

The official Twitter account for Little Nightmares II has revealed a beautifully haunting promo image of the new character Mono. The sequel from Tarsier Studios and Bandai Namco was announced back in August at Gamescon 2019. New nightmare character Mono has made an appearance to promote the sequel to the treasured puzzle platformer Little Nightmares. The image appeared yesterday on Twitter that features Mono, one of the main protagonists, standing on top of a television that’s sunk into grass in the middle of a forest clearing....

The coma trick – whereby a witness spends most of the series lying unresponsive in a hospital bed and then wakes up just in time to provide the penultimate episode cliff-hanger – is tried and tested. Another fix is to make the witness a criminal/adulterer/relapsing addict who stays quiet about what they know because it would also incriminate them....

Since it launched back in September, it has been a difficult road for Marvel’s Avengers.
