We’ve known for a while the broad strokes of Beyond Light: Eramis has taken control of the Fallen on Europa, she wields Darkness powers, and Variks calls the Vanguard to stop her. What we didn’t know is just how Eramis wielded the Darkness and what happens to Variks after he puts out a distress call. The latest story trailer to drop for Beyond Light shows us that Eramis isn’t exactly too kind to traitors, freezing Variks with her Stasis abilities....

As if it needed to be said, two of the biggest pop culture brands in the marketplace right now are LEGO and Fortnite Battle Royale. While the former has been a successful toy company for decades and the latter is celebrating its 1st birthday with a special in-game event soon, it’s safe to say that both products would complement the other quite well. LG revealed its 2023 OLED TV line up during Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the beginning of January in Las Vegas. After a brief Easter egg in Thor: Ragnorak, Beta Ray Bill might finally make his MCU debut in Thor: Love and Thunder. “One of the few Thor: Love and Thunder plot details Marvel officially confirmed is that it will see Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster turning into The Mighty Thor. That means the film will feature, at the very least, two different versions of the God of Thunder in Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Portman’s Jane....

Well before Lionhead was known for trying to influence our emotions with the Fable series they made a name for themselves with whimsical titles that were as artistic as they were innovative. Titles like Black & White, for example, pushed the boundaries of what we knew games to be, while still retaining the cheeky sense of humor that players had come to expect from Lionhead. As of late, however, much of Lionhead’s attention has been focused on that Fable series, which next year will launch its fifth title Fable Legends....

Freddie Wong is no stranger to making video game related videos. In fact, you could say he’s an expert. It was Freddie’s previous video predicting what Battlefield 4 would look like that caught the eye of Electronic Arts and so they recruited him and his crew to create a TV commercial for Battlefield 3, with one major requirement — it had to be done in ten days. The rushed time table for the video was to have it help promote the ‘Only in Battlefield 3’ community video challenge where users can create their own in-game vids using authentic Battlefield 3 music for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Stockholm, Sweden to meet the crew at DICE who developed the game....

Remember 2014’s fantasy RPG Lords of the Fallen? If not, we could hardly blame you. Obscured by an onslaught of high profile at-the-time next-gen releases and dismissed by some as a derivative, banal rip-off of FromSoft’s monumental Dark Souls games, Lords of the Fallen was overlooked by many. The game garnered a fairly mediocre 73 on Metacritic with a user score of 6.8, and, six years after release, the Steam user reviews are still mixed, with a paltry 59 percent of players recommending the game....

For so many decades, Electronic Arts (EA) has been releasing their Madden NFL series annually. As the only licensed NFL game on the market at the moment, EA does not seem to have any competition at all to provide football fans with the best footballing experience possible. The latest title of the franchise, Madden 20, has met with lackluster and angry reviews from the fans, claiming that the gameplay is broken, scripted, glitchy, and does not feel authentic at all....

Releasing late last year to a divisive reception, Madden NFL 21 hasn’t exactly been in the good graces of its audience. From the game’s failure to introduce any new innovations since the previous year’s release to its line-up of egregious bugs and glitches, Madden players voiced their frustration with EA’s milking of the license, demanding the team fix the game and begin working towards delivering a more enticing entry at the tail-end of 2021....

As per usual, we just can’t seem to have nice things without people ruining it. Earlier this year, scalpers bombarded McDonald’s in the US to collect the Pokemon cards that came along with happy meals. This resulted in a shortage of Pokemon Happy Meals and the cards from these happy meals being sold at ridiculous prices online. A cute, fun idea was turned into a money grab, and it won’t be surprising if that’s what happens coming up in the UK as well....

When we think of the South Pole, our minds often wander to revered adventurers like Roald Amundsen or Robert Falcon Scott. But there’s much more to Antarctica than its famed expeditioners, and South of the Circle is specifically designed to extrapolate that. “I was reading The Incredible Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, about two Jewish cousins fleeing from Europe before World War 2,” State of Play co-founder and creative director Luke Whittaker tells me....

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is finally set for release next week and the reviews so far have been stellar. Minecraft’s Nether Update is making some major changes to the game’s most deadly dimension, the Nether. In this host of changes such as adding food sources, making dynamic mobs which can be interacted with, and more, the most surprising one is the introduction of Netherite weapons, armor, and tools. Diamond weapons, armor, and tools have always been the pinnacle of power in Minecraft. Nothing the player could make or find was better than these items, and they took a heck of a lot of dedication to get....

MLB The Show 17’s development has produced at least two abominations that would fit in any modern horror game, as shared by developers at SIE San Diego Studio. The Sony Interactive Entertainment developers were doing a livestream showing off some of the core facets of this year’s iteration of The Show. During the “Graphical Improvements” section of the stream, they decided to show off how their hard work can often have surprising results....

John Wick 3 arrives in theaters May 17, but the John Wick franchise apparently has other plans, as well. Wednesday morning Mike Bithell, creator of Volume and Thomas Was Alone, announced an action-strategy John Wick spin-off game. John Wick Hex will attempt to bring the film series’ brand of close-combat “gun-fu” to a hex grid setup. While a release date has yet to be confirmed, John Wick Hex will release on consoles and PC via the Epic Games Store....

The past several years have been transformative for Avalanche Studios co-founder Cristofer Sundberg. First, Avalanche Studios was acquired in May 2018 by Danish entertainment company Norsk Film. Since then, Avalanche has both released Just Cause 4, Rage 2, and the original IP Generation Zero, and has been split into three subsidiary studios. Sundberg, however, won’t be around to see what Avalanche does next. Sundberg left Avalanche in 2019, and has now announced the formation of a new studio....

Despite all the confusion and uncertainty regarding the development of the Justice League film, one thing is certain: quite a bit of material was left on the cutting room floor. During the project’s rough development cycle, a lot of Zack Snyder’s original film was reshot and tweaked to attempt a course correct after Batman V. Superman. Now that the Snyder Cut is on its way to HBO Max, however, more cameos and appearances are being confirmed left and right....

Cheating has been a topic of conversation in the Call of Duty: Warzone community since the game’s launch. Aimbots, wallhacks, and many other methods of cheating become hard to contain and even harder to remove. Activision has moved forward with massive ban waves in the Warzone community, but little has changed. Dealing with a constantly evolving threat can be difficult. It is hard to know exactly how hackers are operating and even harder to effectively stop them....
